What are Portable Greenhouses?
Sounds like a simple question doesnt it? Well, just for sake of brevity; A greenhouse is a building where plants are cultivated.
A greenhouse, large or small, is a structure with a glass, or plastic roof and frequently walls made of the same material. It heats up because of the incoming solar radiation from the sun, warms plants, soil, and other things inside the building, and always you to create a new eco-system.
Greenhouses can be divided into glass greenhouses and plastic greenhouses, for the most part. Commercial greenhouses are often high-tech production facilities for flowers or vegetables. The greenhouses are filled with equipment like heating, cooling, screening installations, lighting, and may be automatically controlled by a computer system setup to a suitable environment for the plants inside.
The glass or plastic used for a greenhouse, portable or not, works as a transmission medium for different spectral frequencies (those are some big words!), and its effective result is to trap energy within the greenhouse, which heats both the ground and the plants inside it.
This effect warms the air near the ground, and this air is prevented from rising and flowing away. This principle is the basis of a greenhouses automatic cooling system. Greenhouses thus work by trapping electromagnetic radiation and preventing convection.
That was a mouth full! But at least now you know what in the world, at a deep level, a greenhouse truely is!

Many enthusiasts in the gardening field look forward to the beginning of a new spring year when they can start using their green thumb in the backyard garden. Most gardeners get a head start on their backyard projects with a portable greenhouse. A portable greenhouse will enable them to extend the growing season by planting their seeds indoors, nurturing them in that safe warm environment, and then removing them and planting them in the great outdoors when the season has turned warm.
If you only are looking to keep some of your more tender plants indoors during the winter months, you may only need one of the smaller types of portable greenhouses.
If you would prefer to keep your greenhouse indoors, you can be less concerned about the outside elements and there will be no need in staking down the structure. But, if you plan on your greenhouse being outdoors, you should look for a portable greenhouse kit that comes with anchors and rope to stake it down. It's not something that you normally think of, until it's too late!
