Planting Perennials with a Portable Greenhouse

Perennials are perhaps the most satisfying plants to grow in a garden. This is because they can easily survive through the long winter and you won’t have to clean up after them come fall. However, there is a minor downside to perennials because they do not blossom in the first annum that you grow them in your yard. They do however blossom after a long while and they too will add beauty to your garden. You can get through that first year easily, all you need to do is to purchase a good portable greenhouse kit to kick start the growing time and extend it till the end of winter.

There are so many different kinds of perennial plants that you will surely enjoy the diversity they could provide your gardens colors. You must already decide what kind and specie of perennial you want to plant or grow in your portable greenhouse. The most popular kinds of perennials are the phlox, the hydrangea, hardy mums. The colorful bleeding hearts, peonies, and irises are also very beautiful and easy to procure. The best part about these species of plants is that you will only need to grow them once and after that you can leave them in the ground and not worry about them too much. This is where the portable greenhouse comes in. After letting the plants grow inside its protection the first year, you can remove the portable greenhouse and tuck it away. Though they only blossom for a short while, their flowers are some of the best and most fascinating.

You can keep your garden a flower by planting different kinds of perennials that will blossom in different months. In this way, your garden will not be empty of beautiful flowers. With a portable greenhouse, you can easily plan where to put each type. Remember that you can just place these plants into the ground for the rest of your years so they will need to accordingly be assigned different spots that suit their needs.

Of course you can’t just leave your perennials unchecked. Even after those first years, these plants will still need some tending. Those that grow to great sizes that are too much for their space or build will have to be separated from the others and will have to be checked regularly for insect parasites and other pests. You can place them in a portable greenhouse if they need treatment for lack of care. If you are looking for the right kind of perennial for you, it is worth trying a few out first to get the feel of the plant. Grow some in your portable greenhouse before planting them in the ground.
